Work. Doctor's appointments. Yuck.
How I would love to be a "stay at home" Mom. Of course that wouldn't exempt me from doctor's appointments, which are far worse than my job.

Breakfast
Water with lemon.
Homemade Echinacea purpurea tincture. Baby & I are still not 100% yet--but we're almost there! I take this tincture straight from the dropper and also add it to my drinks throughout the day.
Pecan raisin granola with vanilla coconut yogurt and blueberries.
Changing a diaper and trying to keep up with hand washing them!

Having a cup of local roasted decaf coffee in our lovely french press. I added raw milk and homemade vanilla extract to my cup.
This is how we get baby to sleep during the day. She is SO curious and never, ever wants to sleep.
She'll yawn and then get mad and squirm and fuss because she knows she's
getting sleepy and tries to fight it.
What will we do when she doesn't fit in her carrier anymore?!
Lunch

At work I had herbal berry tea, a banana, and my homemade seaweed-seed bars! I started making them to recreate these bars that I love so much. Mine include sesame seeds, pumpkins seeds, sunflower seeds, & flax seeds mixed with powdered kelp and brown rice syrup. So good!
When I got home I had a small bowl of mild chili that had been simmering in the slow cooker. It consisted of tempeh, corn, kidney & black beans, onion, butternut squash, garlic & spices. Of course I didn't remember to photograph it until I was done.
Chocolate chip oatmeal cookie (homemade, of course) before heading to the doctors.
Dinner
The doctor visit was quick and baby was on her best behavior
(everything is good-it was her 4 month check-up)!
Yay!
Dinner was leftovers from the night before. Our favorite winter dinner, in fact.
Local beef sausage, cabbage, onion, potato, and kale with homemade sauerkraut, sour cream, and local sourdough bread. The recipe is from this book--one of my favorite cookbooks.

Cups of rooibos tea to end the day.
Rooibos is an African red tea that is very high in anti-oxidants, trace minerals, and nutrients.
Goodnight!

The cookies look amazing! Nothing compares to home made!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was craving chocolate chip cookies the other day. I'm not much of a baker, but I'd much rather attempt my own than get store bought ones!
DeleteOh I love everything you eat/drink... so so delicious. Recipe for those seaweed crackers? Pretty please? They sound awesome. I love rooibos too... with a touch of rice syrup and warm almond milk, delish. We do the cloth diapers too... sometimes when the weather is bad it's so hard to keep up ;) Happy 4 months to your little one!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Cloth diapers are hard to dry when it's cold. Plus we don't have our own washer/dryer so that makes it very hard to keep up sometimes!
DeleteThe seaweed bars are yummy. We love having them for work days. They are a little messy to make but worth it :)
