The end of our summer...

Thank you to everyone who came to support us at the Old Rochester Farmer's Market. We had a great season and enjoyed sharing our summer products with you. If you missed us at the market or have run out of something we still have our summer products available online at our Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/GreenFeatherHerbs?ref=pr_shop

September brings us back to work (we are both teachers) and the upcoming birth of our first child. Needless to say we will be very busy! Autumn & winter are our favorite months however, and we hope to make an appearance at a winter market or at the very least online to sell our autumn/winter line of body care products and teas!

Thank you again & green blessings!

cooling mint

Cooling Mint
Spearmint leaf, Peppermint leaf, Yarrow flower & leaf, Cinnamon bark

Cooling Mint includes a yummy blend of soothing herbs perfect to enjoy after a meal or on a hot afternoon. Peppermint relaxes and helps reduce abdominal pain caused by irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and promotes better digestion. Yarrow is one of the best diaphoretics; meaning it helps your body sweat, thus cooling it down. This tea is great hot or cold with a little sweetener & lemon.

summer citrus

Summer Citrus
Hibiscus flowers, Rosehips, dried lemon & orange, Lemongrass

Summer Citrus tea is prefect for citrus lovers with a tart, lemony taste that is refreshing and gives energy on those days you are drained or wilting from the sweltering temperatures. Hibiscus flowers & rosehips are high in vitamin C and bioflavonoids. They ward off colds, are an anti-inflammatory to infections and strengthen the immune system. Hibiscus is also beneficial to the cardiovascular system by strengthening the blood vessel walls and lowering high blood pressure naturally.

Homemade Deodorant

“If it can’t go in your mouth, don’t put it on your skin." -Rosemary Gladstar

Homemade Deodorant Recipe

Ingredients:
6-8 Tbsp Coconut oil (solid state)
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup arrowroot powder

Directions:
Combine equal portions of baking soda & arrowroot powder.
Slowly add coconut oil and work it in with a spoon or hand blender until it maintains a firm but pliable texture. It should be about the same texture as commercial deodorant, solid but able to be applied easily. If it is too wet, add further arrowroot powder to thicken. Enjoy!
